Welcome to Baobab
For over two decades, Café Baobab has been a quiet constant in Newtown — a breakfast café where neighbours meet, conversations flow, and life slows down just a little.
Inspired by the Baobab tree, known across cultures as the Tree of Life, our café is a space of nourishment, warmth and belonging. Whether you're here for a quick coffee or a long conversation over lunch, you're always welcome.
Café Baobab is lovingly cared for by Gurpreet Singh (Guppy), continuing a long tradition of warmth, care and community.
From our kitchen
A taste of what's cooking today — straight from our live menu, at the same prices you'll pay when you order online.
Fresh from our oven
Crusty house-made ciabatta, marbled chocolate slices, muffins still warm from the tray and cabinet treats loved by our community. Pair one with a flat white and settle in.
